INFORMATION
Wheels take more abuse than any other exterior surface. Every time you brake, iron particles from your rotors and pads blast onto the wheel face and bond chemically to the finish - regular washing doesn't break that bond. Over time, embedded brake dust corrodes clear coats on alloy wheels and accelerates oxidation on chrome and painted finishes. Our tire and wheel cleaning uses an iron decontamination treatment to dissolve bonded contamination before it's scrubbed clear, along with a full tire scrub and dressing to restore a clean, finished look front to back.
Greenville drivers deal with an added layer - the same red clay that packs into undercarriages coats wheel barrels and inner spokes on every unpaved road or gravel lot. It's particularly hard to remove once baked on by heat from the brakes. Whether you're running factory steel wheels or aftermarket alloys, the process is the same: full decontamination, detailed barrel and lug cleaning, and a tire dressing finish. Tire and wheel cleaning can be booked standalone or added to any exterior or full detail appointment.

Do you clean inside the wheel barrels?
Yes. Brake dust builds up on the inside of the wheel barrel and on the back face of spokes - areas a car wash completely misses. We reach in and clean those areas as part of the service.
What is iron contamination and why does it matter?
Iron particles from brake dust bond to wheel surfaces through heat and friction. They appear as tiny orange or rust-colored dots and, over time, cause pitting and corrosion in the wheel finish. Standard washing doesn't remove them - you need an iron fallout remover, which we use.
Do you clean all wheel types like alloy, chrome, painted?
Yes. We adjust our products based on the wheel finish type to avoid damaging the surface. Chrome, alloy, painted, and powder-coated wheels are all serviceable. We avoid abrasive methods on sensitive finishes.
Can wheel cleaning prevent long-term damage?
Yes. Brake dust left on wheels for extended periods causes pitting and permanent staining in the finish. Regular cleaning prevents the buildup from bonding and extends the life of the wheel finish - especially important on alloy and chrome wheels.
