INFORMATION
Engine bay cleaning is done carefully - not just hosing down an engine. We apply degreaser to affected surfaces, agitate with appropriate brushes, rinse with controlled low pressure to avoid electrical components, and finish with plastic and rubber dressing to protect hoses, trim, and covers. The result is a clean, well-presented bay that looks maintained and photographs well for listings. Service takes about 45–60 minutes - great for workers at the Palmetto Automotive Service Center in Piedmont commuting on the deer-infested roads on the way home.
There are practical benefits beyond appearance. A clean engine bay makes it much easier to spot fluid leaks - oil, coolant, and transmission fluid are invisible against a grime-coated surface but immediately visible on a clean one. It also makes routine maintenance simpler. Greenville's summer heat bakes grease and oil onto engine surfaces faster than in cooler climates, so engines accumulate grime quicker if cleaned infrequently.
Engine bay cleaning is a popular add-on for pre-sale detailing - buyers and dealers notice a clean bay. It's also a good standalone service every 1–2 years for regular maintenance vehicles. It can be added to any detail appointment. Same-day available most days (+$50).

What does engine bay cleaning actually include?
We degrease and rinse the engine bay, clean engine covers and accessible surfaces, and dress rubber and plastic components to prevent cracking and fading. The goal is a clean, maintained appearance that also makes future inspections and maintenance easier.
Will engine bay cleaning void my warranty?
No. Washing an engine bay does not void factory warranties. Manufacturers routinely rinse engine bays during service - what voids warranties is physical damage to components or using the wrong fluids, neither of which is part of this service.
How often should I get my engine bay cleaned?
Once or twice a year for most vehicles. If you drive frequently on dirt roads, do a lot of towing, or notice significant grease or fluid buildup, more frequent cleaning makes sense. It's also a good pre-sale step.
Can engine bay cleaning help me spot maintenance issues?
Yes. A clean engine bay makes it much easier to identify fluid leaks, cracked hoses, or worn components that get hidden under grime. Mechanics also appreciate working on a clean engine bay during service visits.
